Expenditures | Growth of IGBB | Publication Output & Impact | Interconnectivity & Productivity

Figure 1. IGBB expenditures from fiscal year 2007 (FY07) through fiscal year 2015 (FY15). Expenditures are often indicative of overall economic impact and growth. Drops in expenditures in FY14 and FY15 are accounted for by movement of several IGBB research faculty members into tenure-track positions at MS State and elsewhere.
Figure 2. The IGBB has grown considerably since 2007, peaking at 15 full time employees (not counting administrators) in FY13. With several research faculty moving into tenure-track positions in 2014 and 2015, the employee and salary + fringe numbers have decreased a bit.

Figure 3. IGBB publication output and impact. Each bar represents the number of peer-reviewed publications produced by IGBB affiliates in a given year. The line graph shows mean journal Impact Factor for each fiscal year. FY15 was marked by publication of three papers in Science and one in Nature Biotechnology.
Figure 4. Influence of IGBB on faculty collaboration and productivity (2007-2012).  In the figure, each vertex represents a co-author on a peer-reviewed journal article or book chapter.  Select IGBB faculty are represented by colored  vertices.    Edges  connect  co-authors,  and  edge  width  reflects the number of joint publications.
